The story
A new lab
In July 2019 AUT News announced a new Architectural Engineering Lab in the School of Engineering, Computer and Mathematical Sciences, directed by Amir, then Head of Postgraduate Studies in Architectural Engineering, together with Ali Ghaffarianhoseini.
A future environments lens
The lab set out to bring a future environments lens to global challenges, with Auckland as a living lab: combining architecture, design intelligence and future cities, and building collaborations across faculties and universities in New Zealand and abroad.
In Amir's words
Amir described the aim as buildings that are greener, more intelligent through digital technology, and healthier for both body and mind.
