The story

A new lab

In October 2019, during World Green Building Week, AUT launched its new Architectural Engineering Lab with a pecha kucha evening run with the New Zealand Green Building Council. Amir was named one of the lab's two directors and co-organised the event.

What it set out to do

The lab focuses on the sustainable performance of future urban environments, treating Auckland as a living lab, and supports smart cities research in AUT's Faculty of Design and Creative Technologies.

The evening

Doctoral researchers and a Master's graduate from the team gave quick-fire talks on building information modelling, sustainable design, housing affordability, neuro-architecture, classroom acoustics, trust in driverless technology and passive buildings in cooling climates.
